SCHOLARSHIPS
Patricia Pownder Conolly, Lillian Cooper Droke,
and Linda Lyons Scholarships

The Mental Health Association of Tarrant County awards the Patricia Pownder Conolly, Lillian Cooper Droke, and Linda Lyons Scholarships each year to students pursuing careers in the field of mental health and consumers of the mental health system.

• Rupert and Elizabeth Pownder established The Patricia Pownder Conolly Memorial Scholarship in memory of their daughter. This scholarship is designed for students pursuing a degree in the mental health field. Mental health related fields are defined as psychiatry, psychology, sociology, social work, counseling, psychiatric nursing, and rehabilitation counseling.

• The Linda Lyons Memorial Scholarship Fund was established by the Mental Health Association in memory of Linda Lyons, a former MHA board member, mental health professional, and mental health advocate. This scholarship was also designed for students pursuing a career in mental health.

• Thomas M. Droke established The Lillian Cooper Droke Memorial Scholarship in memory of his grandmother. This scholarship is for a student who is enrolled in college or technical training and who has a mental illness. Other students pursuing a career in the mental health field may also be considered if no eligible mental health consumer applies.

Applications are administered and awarded each year by the Mental Health Association of Tarrant County and a scholarship committee represented by local colleges and universities. Click on the link for application and requirements.
