Peer Supported Employment Services

PSES PROGRAM VALUES STATEMENT

The values of the PSES program include hope, personal responsibility, self-advocacy, support, education, collaboration and teamwork, sensitivity, caring and respect. Employment is a viable option for individuals with mental illness. These values will be incorporated into all aspects of the program. Our aim is to facilitate recovery which involves

  • Promoting hope
  • Helping participants in their effort to take personal responsibility for health and life choices
  • Supporting participants in getting on with life beyond illness

  • PSES PROGRAM VISION STATEMENT

As part of their recovery experience, more individuals with mental illness are empowered to obtain and maintain their chosen employment. MHATC’s Peer Supported Employment Services program is the primary resource for assisting persons with mental illness in Tarrant County to choose, get and keep employment. This includes assisting people in the normal process of working (i.e., promotion, changing jobs, terminating unsatisfactory employment situations, etc.). There is less stigma and more tolerance of persons with mental illness in the workplace. There is greater awareness and acceptance of mental illness in the community.
