MHATC offers a variety of supportive and educational opportunities for adults with mental illnesses (our clients.) These opportunities include a Warm Line, Peer Activity Program, a client art project, WRAP, support groups and other education and advocacy programs. The Peer Support programs are mental health consumer designed and run.
Peer Warm Line
The Warm Line, a program by and for mental health consumers, is a service for people who need support and human contact, but don't need a crisis line or hotline.
Peer Activity Program
The Peer Activity Program provides opportunities for clients who live in Tarrant County to interact with each other in fun, community-based settings allowing for an increase in social support and friendship.
Consumer Art Project
The Consumer Art Project exhibits a myriad of artwork by clients at MHATC. Most of the art is for sale at prices determined by the artists, with all proceeds going to the artists. All art submitted for exhibit or sale must go through a committee approval process. Contact MHATC for help in submitting art or drop by to view the excellent works on display at our office at 3136 W 4th Street in Fort Worth..
The class is taught by fellow consumer and covers three primary areas: building a support system; wellness tools such
as diet, creative expression, sleep, and light; and recognizing when we are not doing so well including triggers and what
to do to regain control over our situations.
Support Groups
MHATC hosts a variety of support groups and keeps listings of hundreds of others available in the community. Please call to inquire about a specific subject matter.
Please contact us at mhatc@mhatc.org for information on any Peer Support Programs. Our Peer Support Program continues to grow at a tremendous rate. We welcome all clients of the mental health system to participate and look forward to the future of these programs with excitement!
